Q: I submitted the registration form with a university-verified email but I did not receive a confirmation email. Is this an error? A: You may currently experience up to an hour delay for a confirmation email. Ensure you double-check the spelling of your email before submitting!

Q: Is Buddeat available for all universities? A: Not currently, but we aim to be available for as many universities/post-secondary institutions as possible in the near future. We are currently available to Brock University, Humber College, University of Windsor, OCAD University, University of Guelph, and McMaster University.

Q: Is this a Facebook replica? A: No, this platform does the connecting for you and there is no intention of becoming another Facebook.

Q: If I submit multiple forms, which one will the system use? A: Your most recent submission.

Q: Can I join Buddeat if I'm not a university student? A: Buddeat is exclusively designed for university students. You will need a valid university email address to sign up and participate in the community.

Q: Can I match with students from other institutions? A: Not currently.

Q: Why do I only receive one match every week? A: To establish focus when forming new connections. We are, however, actively looking into a multiple-match feature that could be implemented in the future. 

Q: How does the algorithm work? A: We are actively testing various algorithms to better understand how we can increase the compatibility between matches.

Q: Is Buddeat safe? A: Yes, Buddeat prioritizes user safety. We verify users through their school email addresses. However, always exercise caution and follow our community guidelines when interacting with others.

Q: Is Buddeat free to use? A: Yes, Buddeat is free to use for all university students. 

Q: Can I opt-out of matchmaking? A: Yes, please fill out the opt-out form found on the home page.

Q: Can I use Buddeat on my mobile device? A: Yes, Buddeat is designed to be mobile-friendly. You can access the platform through your web browser on both desktop and mobile devices.
